Week 9- Juxtaposition [3]

Analogy is used to make a strange term be understood by comparing it with something familliar.
It is a good way to make brief advertisements easily understood in that short period of time.

Eg.
Love is like Coffee. It is bitter, but by adding those small things it becomes sweet. Being in love with someone and in a relationship are bittersweet. With memories, experience, sacrifice for the other, sharing, bitter becomes sweet.
A cup of coffee is hot and steamy like passionate relationship. Love is bittersweet, hot and steamy.

__________________________________________________________
we were given around a dozen words side by side to be matched randomly.
2 words that i have randomly chosen for association is
Dog and Water.

"Alex's dog ran into the water and retrieved the frisbee."

random association "waterdog" directly translated into Cantonese language sounds like dumpling.
___________________________________________________________
another 2 words that were chosen for 2 associations:
Fly and Spider

The spider slowly crawls towards the trapped fly on its web.

Spiders fly by spunning silk threads that can be lifted up by wind.
____________________________________________

We were asked to combine 2 different animals and create a new animal that can't live long.

This is a combination between a cheetah and a turtle that I'd drawn. It wont' live long and have a short lifespan because of the following. A cheetah runs fast but unlike a lion, it does not have stamina. After running, a cheetah needs to rest for hours. However, this is balanced by their speed. They almost never fail in catching their prey. With a heavy turtle shell on its back, their stamina will be even more greatly diminished in a shorter time while reducing their speed. Therefore, this creature will not live long as they can't catch their preys.
